New theme

November 23rd, 2009

I’ve just released my new theme. It is more customized than the previous one and the code is more up to date. I’ve got rid of the sidebar and placed everything in the footer, Wordpress didn’t make this easy, it was more work than I expected. Likewise with the comments, who knew it was so much work just to add an extra element.

The are still some tweaking left. I haven’t been to concerned about IE6 this time but the theme should work in the other major browsers.

I’m keeping the random backgrounds for the headers for now even though I admit it could be a bit confusing.

Now I just need to write more here ;)

Random header background

Added random background for the headers. Just playing around the wp-theme, not sure whether I’ll keep it or not.

Browser testing

June 11th, 2009

I wrote about the tool IEtester earlier this year. Now are both Adobe and Microsoft working on similar tools.

Microsoft SuperPreview , this free* version allows you to test pages in IE6, IE7 and IE8. The full version will add browser support for other browsers you might have installed like Firefox and Safari. Note; no Mac version. You can read a review on webdesignerdepot.com

Adobe Browserlab, currently free in beta-testing. Browser support varies in the Windows and Mac version. IE6 and IE7 only on Windows, Safari only on Mac, both have Firefox 2 and 3. No mention of Opera.

*Edit: SuperPreview is no longer free, it was only free during beta. SuperPreview is now part of Microsoft Expression Web 3

Font-face

May 22nd, 2009

Now that support of @font-face is getting more common. There is still issues with font licensing, you cannot use all fonts freely.
So I’ve gathered a list of places where you can find open fonts. Note some of these fonts may have restrictions that limit their use on the net. The quality also vary.
